My name is Kim LeFever – Welcome to my blog!
I was born and raised in a small town in Nevada, and although I now live in a city, I still consider myself a “small-town girl”.
Statistics and Probability became a passion of mine during high school, and I knew that I wanted to pursue that topic in college. I graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a BS in Mathematics and Statistics and a minor in Computer Science. While going to school, I worked for a leading slot machine manufacturer to check the math models behind the slot machines in production. After graduating, I was able to merge my passion for probability with the yearning for creativity to become a Game Designer/Math Product Developer for the same company. I love that my job allows me to be both analytical and creative to create something that offers many people entertainment.
When I am not creating games, I enjoy being creative on less-structured projects, such as special events and weddings. While in college, I often found myself coming across wedding planning shows that would start my mind turning about ways I could do similar things on a smaller budget. Now that I am starting to go to more and more weddings each year, I hear many money-saving tips, both in general and specific to the local area. This has allowed me to see that I not only have passion for probability, but for wedding planning as well.
Ideally, I would love to be able to work on producing games as my “day-job” and then plan weddings on the weekends. This blog is the beginning of that to help it become reality!
